TULSA BOAT, SPORT & TRAVEL SHOW:
IT’S TIME TO FIND THAT BOAT!
Tulsa, Okla. – It’s time to find your dreamboat at the 2008 Tulsa Boat Sport and Travel Show!
“Last year’s show was extremely successful,” Phil Keeter said, president of the show. “We’re excited to keep that momentum going with competitive promotions, crowd-drawing events and always keeping the show’s key ingredients – family and fun.”
Presented by Mercury MerCruiser, the 52nd annual show will be held at QuikTrip Center at Expo Square, Jan. 28 through Feb. 3. Show hours are noon to 9 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday; noon to 10 p.m. on Friday; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Admission price is $10 for adults, and children under 12 are free. All area Arby’s restaurant will have $2 discount coupons available, valid Tuesday through Thursday only.
This year’s attendees will have the chance to win a $20,000 Larson 180 sport boat and trailer, courtesy of Larson and Ugly John’s Custom Boats & RVs.
The show will kick off Monday with VIP Night. Hours are 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets cost $20 and offer attendees the exclusive opportunity to preview the show while sampling Tulsa’s best food. Throughout the week, attendees can simulate sport fishing on virtual reality fishing games sponsored by Arby’s.

Friday, Feb. 1 is Creek Nation Casino Day. Goodie bags will be given to the first 1,000 people to enter the Tulsa Boat, Sport & Travel Show. Each bag will contain $10 in free play Casino Cash. Five lucky recipients will find their bags contain Casino Cash in denominations of $25, $50 and $100.
Red Hot Ruby from Video Gaming Technology will also be on hand to greet each guest. Attendees can register to spin Creek Nation Casino’s wheel of fortune for a chance to win prizes, such as key chains, wind shirts, coasters, t-shirts, hats and various denominations of Casino Cash. Creek Nation Casino will also give away $1,199 to one lucky winner.
Saturday is Kids Day. All children under 12 will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult. They will also receive SpongeBob Square Pants bobbers, courtesy of Zebco while supplies last.
Allstate will present safety weekend Feb. 2-3. Representatives will be available to answer any insurance questions and distribute literature on boater safety. Allstate will give away life jackets at their booth on a first come, first serve basis. For more information about Promotions click here.
Perhaps the biggest change from previous shows is the seminar line-up. Free seminars on fishing, sailing and more will be presented throughout the week by nationally-recognized experts, including, Jeff Kriet, Jeff Williams and Mike McClellan. The Tulsa Power Squadron will also offer seminars throughout the week.
Twiggy the water-skiing squirrel is also back by popular demand.
“Space for the show is completely sold out,” Randy Chrisman said, Tulsa Boat, Sport & Travel Show manager. “I think our attendees are going to be very pleased with variety of exhibitors this year.”
In 52 years, the Tulsa Boat Sport and Travel Show has grown to be among the nation's top events of its kind, besting the likes of Los Angeles, Houston and New York in both attendance and square footage, according to Keeter. The Marine Retailers Association of America ranks the Tulsa show in the top 10 in the nation for attendance, and the Consumer Travel Agency ranks it as the overall fifth best show in the U.S. It is also the largest single and longest running event held in Tulsa, with the exception of the State Fair.
